There is a lot of confusion around Lithium Ion battery chemistry and the first confusing point is the actual name. Lithium Ion is the umbrella term for all EV batteries that contain Lithium. From there the actual chemistries vary greatly. The two most prevalent chemistries and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC).
